Proje ve canlı albümlerin çoğunluğu oluşturduğu bir yıl oldu sanki. Sadece sayısal olarak değil içerik olarak da verimli bir yıl oldu caz severler için. Pandemi sürecinde dijital ağda gidip gelen kayıtların yavaş yavaş canlıya dönüştüğü de gözlemleniyor. Yılın ilk yarısında iyi bir dinleyici olmaya gayret ederken, ikinci yarıda çok eksiklerim olsa da benim oltama takılanlar arasında öne çıkanlar bunlar oldu.

İyi dinlemeler ve iyi yıllar.

It seemed like a year in which projects and live albums constituted the majority. It was a productive year for jazz lovers not only in terms of numbers but also in terms of content. It is also observed that the recordings that were going back and forth on the digital network during the pandemic are slowly turning into live albums. While I tried to be a good listener in the first half of the year, these were the ones that stood out for me in the second half, even though I lacked a lot.

Aki Takase – Carmen Rhapsody (BMC Records)

Bobo Stenson Trio – Sphere (ECM)

Underwear (1971), Reflections (1993), War Orphans (1997), Serenity (1999), Goodbye (2005), Cantando (2007), Indicum (2012) ve Contra la Indecisión (2018) adlarıyla yayımlanmış unutulmaz albümlere imza atan bu piyano üçlüsünün yeni albümü Nisan 2022’de kaydedilmiş. Albüm, yıllarca birbirlerinin icrasına saygılı yaklaşım gösteren bir grubun hassasiyetini ve özenini yansıtıyor. Chris Potter – Got the Keys to the Kingdom (Edition)

Chris Potter, dördüncü canlı kaydı Got the Keys to the Kingdom’la karşımıza çıktı bu yıl. Dave Liebman – Live at Smalls (Cellar)

Albüm, 2022 yılının Ocak ayında, New York’un ünlü kulübünde, trompette Peter Evans, piyanoda Leo Genovese, basta John Hébert ve davulda Tyshawn Sorey‘den oluşan, Dave Liebman’ın daha önce hiç birlikte çalmadığı bir beşliyle canlı olarak kaydedilmiş. George Coleman – Live at Smalls Jazz Club (Cellar Live)

Julian Lage – The Layers (Blue Note)

Kenny Barron – The Source (Artwork Records)

Noam Wiesenberg – NeoNomadik (La Reserve Record)

Satoko Fujii – Torrent (Libra Records)

Japon piyanist Satoko Fujii‘nin yeni konser kaydı Torrent için yılın en iyi piyano albümlerinden biri demek yanlış olmaz. Özgür doğaçlamanın olanaklarından yararlanan ve sınırlarda gezinen tarzıyla öne çıkıyor. [It would not be wrong to call Japanese pianist Satoko Fujii’s new concert recording Torrent one of the best piano albums of the year. It stands out with its style that utilizes the possibilities of free improvisation and wanders on the borders.]

Scott Hamilton – At PizzaExpress Live In London (PX Records)

Alabildiğine yalın ama eğlenceli olmayı da ihmal etmeyen bir tavırla çalınmış ve canlı olarak kaydedilmiş tutkulu bir Scott Hamilton albümü. Kuşkusuz yılın en iddasız ama en tutkulu işlerinden. [A passionate Hamilton album, played and recorded live with a simple yet playful attitude. Stephan Micus – Thunder (ECM)
