A Musical Journey on the Istanbul-Berlin Line: Büşra Kayıkçı- Ah! Kosmos: Bluets

Imagine there is a train line connecting from Istanbul to Berlin. Any time, any length. But uninterrupted. Imagine passing through non-existent realms through glass as it rushes by. Imagine that the images created in your mind of cities and places that are not reminiscent of cities give you a sense of familiarity. As the flow continues, you accumulate new moments and memories, mysterious and fluent codes that you have not experienced before flow in the back of your mind.

Electronic music producer Ah! Kosmos and neoclassical music composer and pianist Büşra Kayıkçı invites you to the dark blue depths of minimalist music. Bluets is released on November 11th via FUU. Right after, they will be at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage on the evening of November 19th for the album launch concert.

In the 10-track “Bluets” LP, you will listen to arrangements of “urban sounds” and “poetic piano” scores, established with continuous repetitions, with passages that you will feel the continuity. Sound collages created from distant and serene sounds and industrial sounds, along with flowing sounds such as melting glaciers and waterfalls, have been transformed into layers within the music. In addition, by adding analog sounds such as the crackling of vinyl records, the futuristic music is interspersed with the textures of the past.

When the album, which is a session that will penetrate deeply into the souls of minimalist music lovers, is completed, we will experience and see whether the ‘feeling of familiarity‘, the starting point of the two composers, will come and find you.

All tracks on the ‘Bluets’ LP were composed by Başak Günak and Büşra Kayıkçı. The album produced by Ah! Kosmos, Kayıkçı plays the piano, Judith Hamman on the cello, Iranian musician Shabnam Parvaresh on bass clarinet and Canadian musician Maysun on live percussion.
